We select the soil remediation method according to the substances that caused the contamination, the substances' level of concentration, the size of the area, the nature of the soil and the risks associated with remediation.
Contamined soil may be remediated in situ, (without transferring soil or groundwater), on site, or off site (the soil or groundwater is transferred elsewhere to be treated). We can handle all phases of the cleaning project from the demolition of any old buildings on site, water treatment, excavation and transport of the soil mass to the reutilisation of the treated mass and the construction of infrastructure in the area.

The metal, rocks, concrete, wood and iron sieved from the soil are directed to be reused as raw materials. Soil that is suitable for construction is used at Fortum’s own construction sites or reception centres for industrial waste. Clean soil is used as a fill material in restoration projects.
